they're using the cher voicebox thing which, if they could not sing, like cher, i would be disappointed. since they (john) have nearly two decades of singing on tune under their belts, i will forgive them.
it's clearly a romanic gladiatorish blood and guts video, which i like since i like killing things.
other than that, it's very abstract, and i don't understand any of it, but, ya know, it could be the drugs.
I didn't notice the fancy voice distortions, but I don't have an ear for these things. Well, if John^2 is using it, I suspect it's not vocal vanity but just another way to get their voice a little weird.
I think it's actually telling the story of a russian revolution/murder of a czar which makes it all the better for me. In any case, I think they're on a history jag, if the last song on the album is any indication. I'll give you a teaser: It's called "The Mesopotamians" and I'll be premiering it here on Slacktopia later on!
