News Flash!

Okay, this may not be news to some of you, but after 3 near misses in traffic today, I have come to the following realization: I am a horrible driver. I think I was pretty decent at one point in time (or maybe not, who knows?). But now, oh god now, I'm amazed I'm still alive. So . . . yeah. Try and forget this post when you visit me and I insist on driving you around town.

  1. Um. . . so this was BEFORE I asked you to come up and meet me in Truckee? If I'd known that, I don't think I would have asked you to take your life in your hands like that. I don't think I could handle the guilt.

Now I'm thinking I should have called you when I got home last night, just to see if you'd survived your trip home for the holidays.

  2. Oh, as bad as my driving is, I still seem to be protected by some benevolent higher power for the time being. Although, on the way back I DID notice cars passing me giving me a wide berth, as if they suspected I might swerve randomly into their lane. Truthfully, I was just tired.

I'm glad you're not in Idaho right now. We just got about 4-5 inches of slow that has turned most everyone in to a bad driver. Ive got an old car with 4wd and studs (not including me! HA!) and it is still quite slick. I watched in blithe amusement, actually, as one rather idiot woman charged around the corner without looking to come face to face with a stuck car. She slammed on her breaks and I watched her slowly slide to a stop inches away from the bumper of the car in front of her. I was having so much fun watching idiots like that on the street that I completly lost track of time and was late to my yoga/ninja cooking class.

Actually, that above comment should say "snow" not "slow"...damn this keyboard and these stubby fingers!
